New Winner’s Edge program

Why are you changing the Winner's Edge program?

Several years have passed since the Winner’s Edge program first launched to our Lottery customers. In that time technology has advanced how people view email. The Winner’s Edge program was originally created with customers using desktop computers in mind. With the rise of people viewing email on a range of devices - from laptops to tablets to mobile phones – we’re changing the program to provide an experience optimized for whatever screen size a customer might be using. We’re also taking this opportunity to refresh and update the program in order to provide a more modern and customized experience for customers.

What’s different from before with the updated Winner’s Edge program?

At the moment regardless of your screen size, you’ll receive the same email as everyone else. With the new Winner’s Edge we’ll be sending responsive emails – meaning no matter how you choose to access your email (whether on desktop, mobile, or tablet) the email will render according to your device in order to provide you with an optimal viewing experience.

Winner’s Edge emails will also receive a new look and feel overall with a fresh, updated design.

Does this mean I need a new computer/phone/device to be able to see the new emails?

No. We’re simply enhancing our email program to be viewed on all computers and devices. People who choose to access their email from a phone or tablet will be delivered an email designed specifically for those screen sizes, instead of our current “one size fits all” email model.

Besides the look & responsive design, is there anything else changing with the program?

Currently, when you sign up for Winner’s Edge you’re given the option to subscribe to Winning Number alerts where we’ll email you the winning numbers for a specific game. If you play several OLG games and subscribe to these alerts (for example, you subscribe to get winning numbers for LOTTO 6/49, Poker Lotto All In, and Lottario), you could be receiving up to three separate emails on a given day containing winning numbers for each game. In some cases it could even be more depending on the number of games you play.

With the new program we’re stream-lining how we deliver winning numbers to you, customizing your email experience. Going forward we’ll only send you one email which will contain all your winning numbers for a given draw date.

What does the new email program have to offer?

Responsive design optimized for whatever device you’re viewing your email on, all your winning numbers in one email, an easier way to manage your Lottery account and profile.

We’ll also be adding further new features so stay tuned for when we announce these in future.


When I sign up for any of these services, how will I know my sign-up is complete?

Once you complete the sign-up process, a confirmation email will be sent to your email address (the same email address which you used when signing up for the service). This email will contain a link that you use to activate your account. This type of a "double opt-in" process is used to protect customers against false activations, for example where one person subscribes on another person's behalf or without that person's permission or knowledge.

How can I change which emails I am receiving?

Log in and go to your profile. You will see a list of all the emails you have selected as well as those you haven’t yet selected. Make the desired changes, click “Submit” and your selections will be updated instantly.

What if I only want to receive Jackpot alerts when the Jackpots are big?

You can choose to receive Jackpot alert emails for just the big Jackpot amounts by selecting “High Jackpots only” when you sign up or when you edit your preferences. If you select this option, you will receive Jackpot alert emails only when the LOTTO MAX Jackpot amount is $20 million or more or when the LOTTO 6/49 amount is $10 million or more.

How can I receive information about Lottery contests?

If you select the option to receive newsletters, you will receive updates about Lottery products, news and contests.

What if I no longer wish to receive a specific email?

You can opt out of our email program at any time by either using the Unsubscribe link contained in any OLG email sent to you or by logging in to your account and updating your email preferences.

What if I would like to participate in research or surveys?

If you wish to receive invitations for research or surveys, select that option under your email preferences. You’ll be helping us improve our products and services. We send out short surveys only a few times a year but they can have a big impact.

What type of information can I expect to see in your email newsletters? How often will I receive the newsletters?

Email newsletters will provide lottery news, such as information about new lottery games, upcoming promotions, winners and exclusive offers and contests. You can expect to see newsletters roughly once a month.

How long do you keep my information on file?

Your information will be kept, and your account maintained as an active account, as long as you are participating in one or more email services (for example participating in email subscriber-exclusive contests) We will also continue to keep your information as long as you are still reading our email messages and if we do not receive frequent bounce-backs from your email address.

If you are not subscribed to a service, and your email account has not been active for a period of two years from the date of last activity or original registration, we will remove your records from our mailing list and we will no longer email to that email account, unless you re-subscribe to our email services.

Signing Up and Logging In

If I signed up for the Bingo 2nd Chance Internet Contest, do I have to sign up again?

No. If you signed up for the Bingo 2nd Chance Internet Contest then you already have an OLG Lottery account. You can log in to set your preferences at any time.

Why am I getting the error message "Email address is already in use" when I try to sign up for a Lottery account?

If you receive this message, and you have not already signed up for an OLG Lottery account, it is possible that someone else in your household has signed up using the same email address. An email address cannot be used by more than one person. If you believe this message is incorrect, contact the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098 for assistance.

Why can't I log in? The site is not recognizing my information.

You may have entered your email address or password incorrectly. Check that you haven't made any typos and that Caps Lock is off. Also make sure you haven't entered any spaces. If you continue to have an issue, go to the Forgot login page.

What if I forgot my password?

If you've already signed up for an OLG Lottery account, and have forgotten your password, go to the Forgot login page.

I no longer have access to the email address that I signed up with. What should I do?

If you have forgotten or no longer have access to the email address that you signed up with, contact the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098 for assistance.

To change your email address, you must log in to your Lottery account and update your profile.

How do I change my phone number, address or other information I signed up with?

Why do I have to enter my date of birth when registering for a Lottery account?

OLG has firm policies and procedures to protect against minors participating in any lottery game or contest or engaging with our websites. Members must provide their date of birth in order to confirm that they are at least 18 years of age.

What does OLG do with my personal information?

Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information is important to us. What do I do if my $2 OLG Watch ‘N Win Lotto Free Play eCoupon won’t scan at retail after I print it?

You have the following options: you can re-print your eCoupon and take the new printed coupon to an OLG Authorized Retailer or, if you have a mobile device you can display the eCoupon on your phone and the retailer can redeem it from your mobile device.

The retailer has advised me the eCoupon is not valid. Why is this?

If your eCoupon has been redeemed, the retailer will advise you that it has already been paid and provide you with a Customer receipt that shows the $2 OLG Watch ‘N Win Lotto Free Play cannot be processed and is not valid. If the eCoupon is presented to the retailer after the expiry date of May 31, 2016, it will not be valid. If you have not received an email after 15 minutes, it is possible that your email provider may send your eCoupon email to your junk or spam folder. Please check the spam folder of your email inbox.

Printing an eCoupon

How do I print my $2 OLG Watch ‘N Win Lotto Free Play eCoupon?

You will need a laser or ink jet printer hooked up to your computer. Make sure your printer is turned on and has paper and ink or toner. Check that your default printer is set to print to paper. Select Print and wait for your unique Free Play eCoupon to upload (this may take a few moments).

The eCoupon must be printed as is and not resized. Coupon will print on 8 1/2 “x 11 paper. Black ink is recommended.

I have an older phone can I still redeem my eCoupon?

Yes. Do I need internet access?

As a retailer, you can redeem your eCoupon but not at your own location. You must go to a location other than your place of work to redeem it.
