OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS
The TRIPLE CROWN SECOND CHANCE Contest (the "Contest") is sponsored by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation ("OLG"). OLG is referred to in these Official Rules as the "Sponsor". The Contest is managed by SplashDot, Inc. (the "Contest Manager"), acting on behalf of the Sponsor for the purposes of this Contest. The Contest fulfillment is managed by The Marco Corporation (the "Contest Administrator"), acting on behalf of the Sponsor for the purposes of this Contest.
The Contest commences May 2, 2016 and ends on November 30, 2016 at 4:59:59 pm EST (the "Contest Entry Period"). For the purposes of these Official Rules and Regulations all times and dates refer to Eastern Time ("ET").
By entering this Contest, entrants accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and the Contest Manager, which are final, binding and conclusive on all matters related to this Contest.
ELIGIBILITY:
- The Contest is only open to those who are:
- Residents of Ontario; and
- Eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of registration.
- Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Contest is not open to:
- Employees of:
- The Sponsor, including full-time, part-time and student employees of OLG; persons who are directly on OLG’s payroll; and OLG employees who are on paid or unpaid leave;
- The Sponsor’s advertising, promotion and contest management agencies;
- The Contest Manager and the Contest Administrator;
- The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario ("the AGCO").
- Members of the OLG Board of Directors;
- Directors, officers, partners, and sole proprietors of OLG’s authorized retailers, or paid or unpaid, full time, part time, and student employees of OLG’s authorized retailers who are engaged in any manner in the handling of lottery tickets, including without limitation the activation, sale, validation or the redemption of lottery tickets are not eligible to participate in this Contest, by themselves or as a member of a group, by way of purchasing or receiving a lottery ticket from the retailer location with which he/she is associated, and are not entitled to claim any prize resulting from their participation contrary to these Rules or contrary to any applicable policy of OLG.
- Individual consultants or public sector employees retained by OLG through contracts of retainer, for periods of service of 30 days or more in the aggregate.

PRIZES AND ODDS OF WINNING:
- There are ten (10) prize packs available to be won (each a "Prize Pack" collectively "Prize Packs"). If all other requirements of these Rules are met, each winner of the Prize will receive one (1) package valued at $2,400.00 CAD containing the following:
- One (1) travel voucher valued at $2,000.00 CAD
- Two (2) Queen’s Plate Dinner Vouchers valued at $100 CAD each
- Two (2) Woodbine Entertainment Group vouchers valued at $100.00 CAD each
- The odds of winning a Prize depend on the total number of all valid entries (regardless of the method of entry) received during the Contest Entry Period.
- Entrants are limited to winning one (1) Prize.
- There are ten (10) prize packs available to be won (each a "Prize Pack" collectively "Prize Packs"). If all other requirements of these Rules are met, each winner of the Prize will receive one (1) package valued at $2,400.00 CAD containing the following:
HOW TO ENTER (NO PURCHASE NECESSARY):
- Only online entries are eligible for the Contest. Entries will only be accepted during the Contest Entry Period.
- Eligible participants must register for the Contest at OLG.ca by selecting the TRIPLE CROWN SECOND CHANCE Contest link, or by going directly to the Contest website at triplecrownolg.ca. Eligible participants must follow the instructions to complete the registration form by submitting his/her name, address, email address, phone number, and date of birth. Any subsequent entries will be based on the information provided upon initial registration. Email address and password will be required to log in, update registration information, and for any subsequent entries.
- TICKET ENTRY
Eligible participants who have registered for the Contest online can enter the Contest by going to the ENTER TICKETS page. Registered participants must enter the eleven (11) character alpha-numeric TRIPLE CROWN SECOND CHANCE Contest code (the "Contest Code"), located in the scratch-off area at the bottom of an eligible OLG instant "THE CANADIAN TRIPLE CROWN" ticket (specifically the $5 THE CANADIAN TRIPLE CROWN Game #1882).
Once the unique Contest Code is entered, the registered participant must select "Submit". Registered participants may submit a maximum of fifty (50) unique Contest Codes per day, . Each individual Contest Code may only be entered once during the Contest Entry Period. Registered participants will receive one (1) entry for each unique Contest Code submitted. Sharing Contest Codes is prohibited.
Important: If you are unable to enter your eleven (11) character Contest Code, contact the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098 for assistance. - NO-PURCHASE-NECESSARY (NPN) ENTRY
Eligible participants will need to register for the Contest as per Rule 3.2. To receive one (1) NPN Contest Code for entry into the Prize Pack Draw, registered participants must print their first name, last name, full address (Street, Apt./Suite, City/Town, Province, Postal Code), email address, day and evening telephone numbers, date of birth, and the words "TRIPLE CROWN SECOND CHANCE Contest" clearly on one page of 8 ½" x 11" paper (letter-size), and mail it with one (1) postage pre-paid stamped envelope to the "TRIPLE CROWN SECOND CHANCE" Contest, PO Box 4099, Paris, ON N3L 3W9. A limit of one (1) NPN Contest Code will be provided per posted request. Including additional postage pre-paid stamped envelopes will not result in additional NPN Contest Codes being granted. NPN Contest Codes may take 1-5 business days from receipt to be processed by the Contest Administrator and delivery of a NPN Contest Code is dependent on Standard Canada Post delivery times.
NPN entrants will receive an NPN Contest Code via Standard Canada Post (2-7 business days, depending on your location) and will need to return to the Contest Website, log in with their email address and password, and submit their received NPN Contest Code on the ENTER TICKETS page. Once the NPN Contest Code is accepted, the registered participant will receive one (1) entry valid for the Prize Draw.
NPN Contest Codes must be received on the ENTER TICKETS page by 4:59:59 p.m. November 30, 2016 (the "Contest Entry Period Closing Date") to be eligible for the Prize Draw. All entries received after the Contest Entry Period Closing Date will not be eligible for the Prize Draw.
Participants will receive one (1) entry for each unique NPN Contest Code submitted. Sharing Contest Codes is prohibited.
Registered participants may submit a maximum of fifty (50) NPN Contest Code entries per day, or fifty (50) purchased Contest Code entries, or any combination of NPN and purchased Contest Code entries not exceeding fifty (50) per day.
PRIZE DRAW:
- All eligible entries received during the Contest Entry Period will be submitted into the draw which will be held after the contest closes on or around December 1, 2016 (the "Prize Draw"). Ten (10) winners of the Prize will be selected by random draw from the eligible entries received. Twenty (20) entries will be randomly drawn thereafter ("Back-up Entries"), to be used, in the order they were drawn, in the event that the winning entry initially drawn, and/or one or more of the Back-up Entries do not qualify as per the Contest eligibility requirements subject to Rule 1.2 (a) to (d).
WINNER NOTIFICATION FOR PRIZES:
- Attempts will be made to contact each potential winner of the Prize at the telephone number and/or email address provided with his/her registration information, for ten (10) business days following the date of the applicable draw. Four (4) telephone calls will be made at different times between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. ET. The potential winners must return any message left by the Contest Administrator within the timeframe stipulated in the message to remain eligible to receive the Prize. Prize claiming details will be provided at the time of contact. It remains the responsibility of the entrant to ensure the contact information entered at the registration process is accurate as of the date of contact. OLG will not be responsible for any inaccurate or outdated entrant contact information.
- If within ten (10) business days of the first attempt to contact a potential winner he/she has not been able to be contacted or confirmed for the respective Prize, or is otherwise ineligible to receive the Prize, his/her entry will be deemed ineligible and he/she will not win the respective Prize. The Back-up Entries will be contacted according to the order in which they were drawn, (in the event that one or more Back-up Entries are ineligible), and the process will continue until such time as a winner is declared or until there are no remaining entries to select from.
- If no winner is declared for any Prize, that Prize will not be awarded.
PERSONAL DATA:
- Any personal information collected by the OLG or the Contest Manager and/or Contest Administrator, including but not limited to entrants’ contact information, is collected pursuant to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Act, 1999 and is intended to be used for the following principle purposes: to conduct and administer the contest by OLG or through a Contest Manager or Contest Administrator, including, but not limited to contacting entrants, validating eligibility and the awarding of the prize(s); marketing and advertising purposes including providing individuals with information or services they have opted in to receive, understanding their interests, responding to their concerns and improving service delivery; for OLG's internal business purposes and to comply with legal requirements. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, photo, name, and residence (town or city only) of prize winners may be posted, published, or announced on the contest website, the OLG website and/or other media for up to 12 months after the selected entrant is confirmed as a winner.
TERMS OF ACCEPTANCE:
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions, assignments, or transfers of prizes permitted, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.
Prior to being confirmed as a winner, a selected eligible winner will be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical or other aid. Without limiting the generality of the forgoing, the Sponsor and/or Contest Manager reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to administer an alternate test of skill as it deems appropriate based on the circumstances and/or to comply with applicable law. - Prize winners acknowledge that the Sponsor and all involved advertising and promotional agencies, the Contest Manager, Contest Administrator other suppliers providing prizes or other materials or services in connection with this Contest, anyone else involved in the development or execution of this Contest, each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliated companies and each of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (the "Releasees") are not responsible in any manner whatsoever, for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to, its quality, merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Further, no responsibilities are accepted for any additional expenses, omissions, delays, re-routing, or acts of any government or authority.
- All winners in the Contest, in advance of receiving their respective prize, will be required to sign a standard declaration and release confirming eligibility, compliance with these Official Rules, and releasing OLG, SplashDot Inc., The Marco Corporation, Publicis and their respective employees, affiliates and subsidiaries, franchisees, authorized retailers, agents, contractors, representatives, advertising, promotion and contest management agencies, and any independent judging organization from any liability, claims, damages and/or responsibility in connection with the conduct of this Contest or the awarding or use of any Prize. Each winner agrees to the use of his/her name, address, voice, statement, image, photograph and/or other likeness for publicity purposes without compensation.
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions, assignments, or transfers of prizes permitted, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY:
- The Sponsor and/or Contest Manager reserves the right to terminate, modify or withdraw this Contest, in whole or in part (including altering the manner in which the prizes are distributed), at any time and for any reason without prior notice, and to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, violates these Official Rules, or acts in a disruptive manner. Without limiting the foregoing, the Sponsor and/or Contest Manager may lock out any participant who, in the Sponsor’s or the Contest Manager’s sole judgment, has been disqualified, has questionable eligibility, or is otherwise ineligible to enter the Contest.
- Any individual who attempts to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest or to alter or damage the Contest website may be subject to civil and/or criminal penalties and fines. The Sponsor and Contest Manager reserve the right to seek damages from any such individual to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- The Sponsor, Contest Administrator and the Contest Manager assume no responsibility for: entries lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected; or for the failure, interruption or delay of any mail or email or other communication to be received, for any reason; any computer viruses, time bombs, logic bombs and any other implanted devices of a like or similar nature that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest; problems with the function of any website or website feature howsoever caused; the malfunction of, or damage caused to, any telephone network or lines, computer equipment, data or software, online systems, servers or access providers; any functionality lost due to not having cookies enabled; traffic congestion on the Internet; the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks; for breaches of privacy due to interference by third party computer "hackers"; or any combination thereof, as a result of participation in this Contest.
GENERAL RULES:
- Entries that have been obtained or made through fraudulent means are subject to disqualification. The Sponsor, Contest Administrator, and Contest Manager will not be responsible for entries that are lost, misdirected, or delayed for any reason whatsoever. An entrant is only allowed to register once. More than one registration will invalidate ALL entries submitted by the person who created the duplicate contest accounts and each such account will be disqualified. None of the contest accounts deemed, in the Contest Manager’s sole discretion, to have been entered by this person will be eligible to win ANY prize. Once registered, only an entrant’s email address and password will be required when visiting the contest site.
- It is expressly understood and agreed by all participants that OLG, SplashDot Inc. and The Marco Corporation do not accept responsibility, in whole or in part, for loss, damage or injury, howsoever caused in connection with any prize or the conduct of the Contest.
- With respect to this Contest, all decisions of the Contest Manager, Contest Administrator, and Sponsor are final, with no right to appeal.
- If the identity of a participant is disputed, the authorized account holder of the email address submitted with the entry in question will be deemed to be the participant for the purposes of the Contest. The individual assigned to the email address for the domain associated with the submitted email address is considered the authorized account holder. A selected participant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the entry in question, and is otherwise required to meet all eligibility requirements set out in these Official Rules.
- Name and residence (town or city and municipality only) of prize winners may be posted, published, or announced on the Sponsor’s website, and/or other media for up to twelve (12) months after the selected participant is confirmed as the winner.
- In the event of any conflict with any provisions contained in these Contest Rules and Contest details contained in any form of promotional material or media ("Contest Materials"), these Contest Rules shall prevail.
- Draw dates and times are subject to change without notice.
- All winning entries for the Contest will be destroyed on or after three (3) years from Draw Date all other entries for the Contest being destroyed on or after two (2) years from Draw date.
- This Contest is subject to the laws of the province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada as applicable.
- These Official Rules govern this Contest and must be complied with. By agreeing to participate in the Contest, all participants agree to comply with, and be bound by these Official Rules.
- Prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions, assignments, or transfers of prizes is permitted except at the Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion. Unclaimed Prizes will not be awarded.
- These rules are subject to change without notice (including, but not limited to, changing the value, number, and types of prizes; the contest dates and times, or the draw dates and times) in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor and/or Contest Manager.
- The Sponsor may, in its sole and absolute discretion, extend this contest for any reason it deems appropriate. This includes, but is not limited to, satisfying promotional integrity issues, technical errors or issues, and in the event the Sponsor has not sold all eligible tickets (as defined in Rule 3.3) by the close of the Contest Entry Period.
- The insertion of subheadings in these Rules are for convenience and reference purposes only and will not affect the construction or interpretation of these Rules. All sums of money that are referred to in these Rules are expressed in the lawful money of Canada. References to "discretion", "sole discretion", or "solely" mean the absolute, sole, unqualified, subjective discretion of the party having or exercising such discretion. In the event any part of these Rules is found to be void or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of these Rules shall operate to the fullest extent permissible by law.
- Any individual who attempts to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest or to alter or damage the Contest Website may be subject to civil and/or criminal penalties and fines. The Sponsor and Contest Manager reserve the right to seek damages, whether direct or consequential, from any such individual to the fullest extent permitted by law.
